Eosinophilic Esophagitis: How Can The Pharmacist Help Identify This Type 2 Inflammatory Disease?

Learning Objectives:

Discuss the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and pathophysiology of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE)

Review Type 2 inflammation and the frequent overlap of EoE patients with other allergic conditions .

Differentiate EoE clinical symptoms in pediatric and adult patients (what brings patients to the pharmacy to seek treatment) Understand clinical management in EoE including Guideline recommended treatments

Illinois Pharmacy Law Update – Winter 2022. Program 194

 

Program Description

The Illinois Pharmacy Practice Act and its corresponding Rules and Regulations dictates how we must practice our profession in Illinois. As we all have heard that ignorance of the law is no excuse for any violations. We will discuss meaningful changes and how it impacts our practice for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Participant Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacist and pharmacy technician will be able to:

  1. Discuss pharmacy and healthcare related legislation from the 2022 Session.
  2. Describe updates to Federal and Illinois regulations related to pharmacy.
  3. Discuss policy advancements and implications for pharmacy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  4. Discuss policy advancements regarding pharmacy well-being and workplace.
  5. Review Rutledge vs PCMA SCOTUS decision and the implications on pharmacy practice.

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
