Precepting Updates: How to Incorporate Accreditation Standards in Your Practice. Program 184

Program Description

The North Suburban Pharmacists of Chicagoland is providing our virtual continuing pharmacy education program experience. NSP is committed to providing thoughtful and engaging programs. Your support of ALL pharmacy organizations (ex. IPhA, NSP, APhA, etc.) is more important now than ever. How we are practicing our profession during this difficult time has been challenging and ever evolving. We will be working to provide virtual programs until it is deemed safe to provide live programs again. I am hopeful that you will participate and grow your knowledge with us.

Precepting is a rewarding experience that adds a new level of excitement to everyday patient care. Your pharmacy students will be excited to perform tasks that may be mundane to you and your colleagues. You'll find that their enthusiasm for patient care is contagious. Learn how give back to your profession.

Pharmacist Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacist and pharmacy technician will be able to:

1.Describe Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) standards for pharmacy education.

2.Discuss how pharmacy curriculum changes such as the integration of the Pharmacist Patient Care Process (PPCP) affect precepting.

3. Incorporate the PPCP into student learning through case discussion.

4. Propose learning activities that align experiential educational requirements with site specific tasks and patient care commitments.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of pharmacists. This program is NOT approved for pharmacy technician accreditation. You ARE welcome to join us.
