Schedule of Events:
6:00 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.  Registration/Networking/Dinner

6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Sponsor presentation by Sanofi.

7:30 p.m.-9:00 p.m.: Featured CE Program Presentation.

Reservations are required for attendance. This program is for current (paid) members of the North Suburban Pharmacists. Other participants must be pre-authorized.

In compliance with regulatory and continuing education guidelines/codes of ethics, guests who are not healthcare professionals are not permitted to attend.

Getting Pharmacists into Pharmacogenomics: What’s been going on and what to expect Program 176.

Program Description

We will explore the increasingly important field of pharmacogenomics. What is it and what does it mean to our patients? What are the ramifications for pharmacists?

Pharmacist Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacist will be able to:

1. Describe the background and rationale for precision medicine.

2. Identify opportunities and challenges to pharmacogenetic testing expansion and the clinical resources available to pharmacists.

3. Describe the implications and issues surrounding direct-to-consumer genetic testing.

4. Describe the pharmacist’s role in pharmacogenetic testing and patient education.

 

Pharmacy Technician Program Objectives

At the conclusion of the program, the pharmacy technician will be able to:

1. Describe the background and rationale for precision medicine.
