Pharmacy Legislation and Regulation Update – 2018. Program 170.

Program Description

Our practices are highly regulated to provide safety for the general public. The laws and rules governing our profession can change quickly and significantly. This program will discuss these changes and their impact on our profession.

Program Objectives

At the conclusion of this program, the pharmacist will be able to:

  • Discuss pharmacy and healthcare related legislation from the 2018 session.
  • Outline pharmacy-related Federal legislation, including Pharmacist Provider Status and Pharmacy Benefit Manager reform.
  • Describe updates to the Federal and Illinois regulations related to pharmacy.
  • Report the status of IPhA legislation and regulatory initiatives.

 

Technician Objectives:

At the conclusion of this program, the technician will be able to:

  • Discuss pharmacy and healthcare related legislation from the 2018 session.
  • Outline pharmacy-related Federal legislation, including Pharmacist Provider Status and Pharmacy Benefit Manager reform.
  • Describe updates to the Federal and Illinois regulations related to pharmacy.
  • Report the status of IPhA legislation and regulatory initiatives.

In order to receive ACPE credit for this program, the participant must 1) Attend the program in its entirety; 2) Provide current information on the Attendance Log Form; and 3) Complete an Evaluation Form. The program’s administrator should provide attendees a Record of Attendance Form for their files.
